PM Modi on January 13 will flag off the world’s longest river cruise - MV Ganga Vilas, which will traverse through 27 different river systems.
The cruise will cover a distance of 3,200 kms in 51 days between Varanasi in UP to Dibrugarh in Assam via Indo-Bangladesh Protocol route.
The cruise's itinerary was carefully chosen to highlight India's rich heritage and will include stops at significant historical, cultural, and religious locations.
It would encompass 50 tourism destinations, including National Parks, River Ghats, World Heritage Sites, and cities like Patna, Sahibganj, Kolkata, Dhaka, and Guwahati.
The cruise ship has three decks, 18 suites, and can accommodate 36 passengers. 32 tourists from Switzerland have signed up for the whole duration of the first trip.
The cost of a day on the longest river cruise in the world is Rs 24,692.25 ($300). The whole 51-day trip will cost more than Rs 12.59 lakh or $1,53,000.
