The grand Dasara procession is the highlight of the festival. It includes caparisoned elephants, cultural floats, folk dancers, and various tableaux depicting Karnataka's heritage
As a part of the procession, elephants from Mysore's Bannimantap are beautifully decorated and take part in the parade
Special pujas (prayers) are conducted in Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill, and the goddess is decorated in various forms during the festival.
