Nifty Midcap Index falls up to 1,000 points on Wednesday; Know more about today's drop

Nifty Midcap index falls up to 1,000 points in Wednesday's trading session.

This is the biggest single-day drop for the index since February 12, when it declined 2.5%.

91 out of the 100 stocks on the Nifty Midcap 100 are trading with losses.

HFCL is the top loser on the Nifty Midcap index, down nearly 7%. Stock is down in three out of the last four sessions.

Welspun Living, JK Lakshmi Cement are some of the other midcap losers trading with losses of over 5%.

PSU stocks like NBCC, HUDCO, NLC India also take a knock of over 4% in trade on Wednesday.

Stocks like KEC International are bucking the trend. It is the top Midcap gainer with gains of over 4%.

This is also the lowest level for the Nifty Midcap index since February 12.
