Food banned during the Amarnath Yatra
Yatris will not be served heavy pulav, fried rice, poori, bathura, and dosa.

Junk food like pizzas, burgers, stuffed paranthas and chowmein are banned.

Oily snacks like samosas and pakoras are prohibited.

Sweetmeats including halwa, jalebi, gulab jamun, laddu khoya burfi, and rasgulla are also banned.

With a focus on the pilgrims’ health, consumption of cold drinks and karrah are restricted.

Snacks high in fat and salt, such as chips, matthi, namkeen mixtures, and fried dry fruits, are a strict no-no.

Non-vegetarian food, alcohol, tobacco, gutka, pan masala, smoking, and other intoxicants are banned.

Pilgrims can carry simple food like white rice, uttapam, poha, idli, chapatis, chana dal or any other kind of lentils on the yatra.

Sweet cravings can be satisfied with kheer, white oats, til ka laddoo, and chikki.

You can take honey, figs, raisins, apricots, and other dry fruits.

Plain rice, jeera rice, khichri, and Nutrela rice can be eaten.

As for liquids, herbal tea, coffee, sherbet, lemon water, low-fat milk, fruit juice, vegetable soup and mineral water are recommended.
