OpenAI has rolled out the ChatGPT app for all the macOS users. Earlier the feature was limited to the GPT Plus subscribers.
The ChatGPT desktop app is only compatible with Macs powered by Apple Silicon and running on macOS 14+ or newer versions.
Users can launch ChatGPT via a simple keyboard command ‘Option+Space’ that opens the app from any screen on your Mac.
The native app on Mac allows users to quickly take a screenshot of the entire or part of a screen and load it directly into the app to ask questions about it.
Apart from that users can also upload files and photos. The AI feature can process those pictures using computer vision and answer any questions related to them.
For a hands-free experience, the app also allows users to interact with ChatGPT by using their voice through the Voice Mode feature.
Also, the OpenAI will be rolling out an upgraded version of the ChatGPT Voice Mode with GPT-4o capabilities within the coming weeks.
During the WWDC 2024, Apple announced that ChatGPT access will be integrated into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia.
Additionally, ChatGPT will be available in Apple’s system wide Writing Tools, which help users generate content for anything they are writing about.
