Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh clinched a bronze medal at Paris Olympics 2024 in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event on Tuesday (July 30).
Bhaker and Singh competed against the Korean pair of Oh Ye-Jin and Lee Wonho, who qualified for the medal match after finishing 4th with 18 perfect shots.
However, the Indian duo managed to get the better of the South Korean duo by beating them by a margin of 16-10.
In the 13th series, India shot 19.6 compared to Korea’s 18.5 and bagged the medal. Notably, they qualified with 580 points, missing just 1 point to make it to the gold medal match.
With that, Manu Bhaker created history by becoming the first Indian female athlete to win two medals in a single edition of the Olympics.
She had earlier won the bronze medal in the women’s 10 m women’s pistol event on Sunday (July 28).
Bhaker is the fourth Indian after Norman Pritchard (athletics), Sushil Kumar (wrestling) and PV Sindhu (badminton) to win multiple medals for India at the Olympics.
