The second day of the 2024 Paralympics saw Avani Lekhara win gold in shooting.

The 37-year-old finished behind Korea’s Lee Yunri with a score of 228.7.

This was India’s first double podium finish in the same event at the Paralympics.

Tokyo Games gold-medallist Manish Narwal won silver in the men’s 10-meter air rifle (SH1).

The 22-year-old finished second after shooting 234.9.

Preethi Pal sealed India’s first medal in athletics at the 2024 Paralympics.

She won bronze in the women’s T35 100-metre competition with a personal best timing.
