Pitru Paksha, also known as the Shradh Paksha, will begin from September 29 and will end on October 14.

During this 16-day period, people offer prayers for their ancestors’ souls to rest in peace and seek their blessings. Here are things people believe must be avoided during Pitru Paksha.

People should avoid cutting hair or shaving their beard.
