Private sector bank weightage in Nifty bank hits multi-year low while PSU Banks surge; check the change in weightage here

Why weightage of private sector bank has dropped?

Private sector banks are finding harder to collect deposits which has hurt their net interst margins. PSU banks have been able to access low cost deposits due to their bigger base of savers and better network.

Weightage in FY22- 28.5% Weightage in FY24- 25.2%

Kotak Mahindra Bank

Weightage in FY22- 11.4% Weightage in FY24- 9.2%

AU Small Finance Bank

Weightage in FY22- 2.4% Weightage in FY24- 1.8%

Axis Bank
