Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have reportedly been given freedom to decide if they want to take part in the Duleep Trophy.
Rohit had last played a Test in March this year during the home series against England.
Kohli’s last Test was in January during the tour of South Africa.
Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin will both be exempted from the tournament.
Bumrah is currently taking a prolonged rest after a hectic few months.
Ashwin is expected to directly feature in the Test series opener against Bangladesh.
Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and KL Rahul may be available.
Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Kuldeep Yadav are also likely to feature in Duleep Trophy.
Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan are available for the Buchi Babu Trophy.
There is no update on Mohammad Shami’s comeback.
