Quick South Indian Rasam With Sambar Powder recipe

Boil 1 cup tamarind water (tamarind soaked in water) with 1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
Add 1-2 tbsp sambar powder, salt to taste, and 1/2 tsp jaggery (optional).
Simmer for 10 minutes. Add 1/2 cup cooked and mashed tomato (or tomato puree).
In a separate pan, heat 1 tbsp oil, add 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp cumin seeds, and a pinch of hing (asafoetida)
Pour the tempering into the rasam. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
