Rajasthan is gearing up for a closely contested battle as the Congress and the BJP vie for victory in the upcoming assembly elections. Here’s all you need to know ahead of the elections.

Polling for the 200-member Assembly will be held on November 25. The result for the same will be declared on December 3.

Polling & Result Date

The ECI, for the first time in the state has fixed the polling time of 11 hours instead of 9 hours. The voting will begin from 7am and will close at 6pm.

The state approximately has 5.3 crore eligible voters.

Around 1,900 candidates are in the race to contest the seats in the Rajasthan elections.

The voters' preferences are likely to be heavily influenced by prominent issues such as exam paper leaks, crimes against women, and employment concerns.

The Congress bastion in Jodhpur district, Sardarpura is currently held by CM Ashok Gehlot, a seasoned contender who has contested and triumphed in this constituency on multiple occasions.

The Jhalrapatan constituency is a historic stronghold for former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje. She will contesting from the constituency this election.

BJP’s Jaipur Rural MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who is facing resistance from a faction of leaders within the party, is currently in the electoral race for the Jhotwara seat in Rajasthan.
