Rising Mumbai talent Musheer Khan made headlines during the ongoing Ranji Trophy final against Vidarbha at the Wankhede Stadium on March 12 (Tues).

Musheer, the younger sibling of cricketer Sarfaraz Khan, achieved a remarkable feat by scoring a century in Mumbai's second innings of the Ranji Trophy final.

In doing so, he became the youngest Mumbai batter to notch up a hundred in the title clash, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s previously held record.

Tendulkar had set the bar when he was 21 years old. He scored a memorable 140 against Punjab in the 1994-95 Ranji Trophy final at the Wankhede Stadium.

Musheer's record-breaking ton came at the age of 19 years and 14 days, marked by a couple of runs off Vidarbha pacer Yash Thakur after facing 255 deliveries.

Notably, Sachin himself was present at the venue to witness the proceedings of Day 3 as Mumbai asserted dominance over the Ranji final contest.

Musheer had a promising start to the year, representing India at the ICC U-19 World Cup in South Africa, contributing significantly to his India's final reach.

In the tournament, he amassed 360 runs, becoming the second-highest run-scorer, following his captain Uday Saharan’s 397 runs.

He continued his stellar form by scoring his maiden First-Class century during the Ranji Trophy quarter-final clash against Baroda, which he converted into a double-ton, scoring 203 off 357.

With Musheer's remarkable century, Mumbai is aiming to clinch their 42nd Ranji Trophy title, further cementing their legacy in Indian domestic cricket.
