Bayern Munich beat Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 on the opening night of the new season of UEFA Champions League. Several records were broken during Bayern's thumping win. Here is a look at those records

With 9 goals, Bayern has now created the record of scoring most goals by a team in a Champions League match. The previous record was held by Borussia Dortmund when they scored 8 goals vs  Legia Warszawa in 2016.

With a total of 11 goals the match has gone down in record books as the Champions League fixture with second-most goals in competition's history. The highest-scoring Champions Legaue match is Dortmund 8-4 Legia Warszawa in 2016.

The fixture was Thomas Muller's 152nd UCL match for Bayern Munich. With that he went past Xavi to become the player with most Champions League for a single club. Xavi had played 151 matches for Barca.
