Renault Introduces New EV At Geneva Auto Show

Renault 5 EV was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.

It is the first retro EV model, the French automaker has introduced from its lineup.

The Renault 5 is based on its 1970s predecessor and resembles the 2021 concept.

With two battery options—40kWh and 52kWh, it has a maximum range of 400 kilometres.

It is built on a new EV architecture called Ampr Small (formerly CMF-BEV).

Renault 5 will be available with three motor outputs: 95 hp, 123 hp, and 150 hp.

The mid-range option is claimed to deliver 0-100 km/h in less than 8 seconds.

The electric vehicle’s exterior offers both retro and modern elements.

About 18% of the car's parts are recycled including 41kg of polymers.

The car weighs over 1,300 kg.

The Renault 5 is priced at around 25,000 euros (roughly Rs 22 lakh).
