Follow your favourite cake recipe to prepare the batter. You can use a vanilla or white cake recipe for this.
Once the batter is ready, divide it into three equal portions in separate bowls.
Add orange food colouring to one portion of the batter, white for the second and green for the third portion.
Preheat your oven and pour each coloured batter into separate greased and lined cake pans.
Bake the cakes until a toothpick inserted in its center comes out clean. Then allow the cakes to cool down.
Once the cakes have cooled, place the green layer on a serving plate. Spread a thin layer of frosting on it and add the white part, then the orange part.
You can decorate the cake with tricolour sprinkles, to enhance the tricolour theme.
Chill the cake in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the frosting to set. Then slice and serve.
