Ingredients    Rice – 1.25 cup    Cumin – 2 tbsp    Green chilli, chopped – 2    Green coriander, chopped – 2 tbsp    Desi ghee – 2 tbsp    Onion, cut into slices – 1/4 cup    Oil – as per requirement    Salt – as per taste

To make flavourful cumin rice, first peel the onion and then cut it into thin slices. After this, chop green chillies and green coriander finely.

Now put some oil in a pan, add onion slices and fry on medium flame. Fry the onion till it turns golden brown and then take it out in a plate and keep it aside.

Now wash the rice with water 2-3 times. After this, soak the rice in water for 10 minutes, then filter it and keep it aside. Separately, put 2 cups of water in a vessel and keep it to boil.

Meanwhile, put desi ghee in a pan and heat it on medium flame. After the ghee melts, add cumin seeds, green chillies and fry for a few seconds. When cumin seeds start crackling, add rice to it and fry for about 5 minutes.

After this, add hot water to the rice and boil for 5-7 minutes. After this add salt as per taste and mix with a spoon. Now cover the pan and cook again until the rice becomes soft.

When the cumin rice is cooked well, gently separate the rice grains with the help of a spoon and fork.

Now garnish the cumin rice with fried onion slices and garnish with green coriander leaves. Your flavorful cumin rice is ready to be served.
