Retired Cricketers Want IPL-Like Legends League In India: Report

BCCI has been requested to start an IPL-like tournament featuring former cricketers.

Many retired players have competed in franchise competitions in recent times.

Ex-India cricketers now want such a tournament on home soil, according to reports.

The BCCI is apparently “mulling over” the proposal.

The competition will feature players who have retired from international cricket and the IPL.

An auction is likely to be held similar to other franchise tournaments.

Besides Indian legends, ex-players from other countries may be seen in action.

Like the IPL, the teams will be based out of various Indian cities.

The current tournaments of retired cricketers are mostly organised by private bodies.

The ECB approved the 2024 World Championship of Legends, hosted in Birmingham.
