Ruturaj Gaikwad managed to script history with a fine century in the third T20I Against Australia in Guwahati

With his 123-run* knock, Ruturaj Gaikwad also registered the second-highest individual score by an Indian batsman in T20Is.

Ruturaj Gaikwad finished with 13 fours and seven sixes in his 57-ball blitz.

The talented opener also became the ninth Indian to score a century in T20is.

He reached the mark in the final over the innings by smashing Glenn Maxwell for a maximum on the first ball.

In reply, Glenn Maxwell smashed an unbeaten 104 as Australia pulled off a stunning chase of 223 to stay alive in series.

It was Maxwell's fourth T20 century as he joined Rohit Sharma with most tons in the format and the knock eclipsed a 123 by Ruturaj Gaikwad in India's 222-3.

His 47-ball hundred was the joint fastest in the format for an Australian batsman alongside Aaron Finch and Josh Inglis.
