Shikhar Dhawan announced retirement from cricket on August 24, 2024

His cricket journey began at 14 with Delhi U-16 in the 1999 Vijay Merchant Trophy

Dhawan made his international debut in 2010 against Australia in an ODI encounter 

3 years later he marked his Test debut, which was also against Australia. He scored 187 (174) in his first outing

Dhawan was the top run-scorer in ICC Champions Trophy 2013 and was named as Player of the Tournament

He was the top run-scorer for India in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup

He once again topped the batting charts in 2017 ICC Champions Trophy

Shikhar Dhawan became the first Indian to score a century in his 100th ODI in 2018

He is the second highest run getter in IPL with a total 6769 runs under his name

In 2021, Dhawan was awarded with the prestigious Arjuna Award by the Government of India
