Uttapam is a South Indian dish prepared with a batter of rice and urad dal. Try this simple and tasty South Indian masala uttapam recipe at home.
Ingredients Boiled potatoes - 3 Chana dal - 1 tsp Urad dal - 1 tsp Curry leaves - 8 Green chillies - 2 Ginger - 1 tsp Onion - 2 Rai - 1 tsp Salt - As per taste Haldi - 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp Hing - A pinch Oil - 3 tbsp Rice and urad dal batter
Step 1 Heat oil in a pan, add chana dal and urad dal to it, add mustard seeds, and let it crackle.
Step 2 Add asafoetida, ginger, green, and onion, and let it cook. Add curry leaves and boiled mashed potatoes and fry.
Step 3 Add turmeric, red chilli, and salt as per taste and mix well. Add green coriander and mix and turn off the flame.
Step 4 Heat the dosa tawa on the gas and grease it with a little oil. Spread the batter by filling it with a ladle. Let it cook.
Step 5 Pour the prepared potato mixture over it and spread it on it as a layer. Flip the uttapam and roast it from the other side as well and enjoy.
