1. Ingredients: 1 cup flour (maida) 1/4 cup semolina (sooji/rava) 1/4 cup milk powder 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup milk 1/4 cup water (or as needed) 1/4 tsp cardamom powder A pinch of fennel seeds (saunf) A pinch of baking powder Ghee or oil for frying 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional) 1/4 cup sugar syrup (optional)
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, semolina, sugar, cardamom powder, and fennel seeds.
Then gradually add milk and water to the it, whisking continuously to form a smooth, lump-free batter.
Add a pinch of baking powder to the batter. It should be slightly thick but pourable.
Let the batter rest for about 15-20 mins. Then heat ghee or oil in a deep frying pan on medium heat.
Flip and fry both sides of the Malpua until the edges turn golden brown and crispy.

If you like your Malpua extra sweet, dip them in warm sugar syrup for a few seconds after frying.
Garnish the Malpua with chopped nuts (optional) and serve hot. Enjoy your delicious, homemade sweet!
