Oman faced defeat for the third time in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, on their Sunday (June 9) match against Scotland at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
Opting to bat first, Oman posted 150/7 in 20 overs, powered by opener Pratik Athavale's 54 off 40. After his dismissal, the batting line-up seemed to shatter.
Then Ayaan Khan's unbeaten 41 off 39 helped his side recover and led them to a decent total.
Scotland's Safyaan Sharif picked up two wickets and four other bowlers shared four wickets among them.
During their chase, Scotland received a powerful start with George Munsey's 20-ball 41. Michael Jones supported him with 16 (13).
Brandon McMullen's impressive knock of 61 off 31 boosted the middle-order and kept the chase going.
With skipper Richie Berrington's 13 (7) and Matthew Cross's 15 (8), Scotland chased down the target with 41 balls remaining.
