Kosambari is a simple and basic South Indian salad recipe from the state of Karnataka. Try this high-protein kosambari recipe at home.
Ingredients Moong dal - 1/4 cup Water - As needed Cucumber, finely chopped - 1.5 cup Coconut grated - 3 tbsp Green chilli, chopped - 1 Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp Lemon juice - 1/2 tsp Salt - As required
Ingredients for tempering Oil - 2 tsp Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp Asafoetida - A pinch Curry leaves - 5
Rinse moong dal in running water and soak it for 1 to 2 hours.
After 2 hours, add the soaked moong dal along with cucumber, freshly grated coconut, chopped coriander leaves, and green chillies to a bowl. Add lemon juice.
Heat oil in a small pan, and add mustard seeds, dried red chilli, hing, and curry leaves.
After stirring, turn off the heat. Add the salad to the tempering mixture. Mix thoroughly.
