Polling for the 119-member Assembly in Telangana was held on November 30, while the counting of votes will be done with four other states on December 3. Take a look at some interesting facts about politics & elections in the state.
Secunderabad Cantt is the only Assembly constituency in Telangana which currently has a vacant MLA seat.
The literacy rate is less than 50 in 7 out of the 119 Assembly constituencies in Telangana.
Warangal East Assembly constituency had the highest number of third-gender voters in 2018 as well as 2023 elections.
In the 2018 elections, Thanneeru Harish Rao of BRS recorded the highest winning margin of 118,699 votes in Siddipet.
In the 2018 elections, INC’s Athram Sakku secured victory in Asifabad with the narrowest winning margin of just 171 votes.
In the 2018, 7 constituencies — Madhira, Palair, Narsampet, Munugode, Bhongir, Alair, & Narsapur recorded voter turnout of over 90%.

Serilingampally is the largest constituency in the state with 698,079 eligible electors in the 2023 elections.
