Telangana Assembly Elections 2023: How rich are the candidates?
Out of the 119 sitting MLAs in Telangana, 106 are millionaires, with assets exceeding Rs 1 crore.
With assets of Rs 458 crore, Congress’ Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy is the richest candidate in fray for 30 November Assembly elections in Telangana. He is contesting from Munugode constituency in Nalgonda district.
Pailla Shekhar Reddy, who is running for the Bhongir Assembly seat on a BRS ticket, is one of the ruling party's many wealthy legislators. He declared Rs 227 crore in assets.
Prabhakar Reddy, the BRS candidate from Dubbak, has a net worth of Rs 197 crore. He recently recovered from a knife attack and arrived in a wheelchair to file his nomination on Thursday (9 November).
Marri Janardhana Reddy of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) from Nagarkurnool has declared assets worth over Rs 161 crore.
BRS’ K Upender Reddy of Palair has declared assets worth more than Rs 91 crore.
Telangana’s chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) has declared a net worth of more than Rs 23 crore, with liabilities of Rs 8 crore.
AIMIM's Ahmed Pasha Quadri (Yakutpura) leads the list of MLAs with the lowest assets, with assets of 19 lakh.
Other candidates with low incomes include Ravi Shankar Sunke (Choppadandi) with little more than Rs 20 lakh and Athram Sakku (Asifabad) with slightly more than Rs 27 lakh.
