Three Indian Wrestlers To Qualify For Olympic Final

Vinesh Phogat has become the third Indian wrestler to reach the Olympic final.

Phogat defeated Cuba’s Yusneylis Guzman Lopez in the women’s 50kg semi-final in Paris.

The 29-year-old overcame reigning Olympic champion Yui Susaki in the first round.

Phogat became the first female wrestler from India to have a shot at gold.

Sushil Kumar and Ravi Dahiya earlier secured silver medals in Olympics.

Sushil lost the final to Japan’s Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu at the 2012 London Games.

The Delhi-born wrestler won a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Ravi became the runner-up in men’s 57kg freestyle in his Olympic debut.

In the semis, Ravi scripted a dramatic comeback against Nurislam Sanayev.

He suffered a 4-7 loss to Zavur Uguev in the final at the 2020 Tokyo Games.
