Balanced Advantage Funds (BAFs) are also known as dynamic asset allocation funds. These funds can handle market volatility skilfully.
BAFs adjust their equity exposure based on market conditions. They cut down on equity during uncertain times and increase them when the market outlook brightens.
Which are the top BAFs? 1. According to Value Research, Tata Balanced Advantage Fund (AUM- 10,453 crore) stands first on the list. Median equity exposure is 47.68%. It has a relatively stable equity portfolio.
2. NJ Balanced Advantage Fund (AUM - ₹4,254 crore) ranks second on the list of top ten BAFs. Median equity exposure - 54.57% Launched 3 years ago, this also has a stable equity porfolio.
3. Edelweiss Balanced Advantage Fund (AUM - ₹12,690 crore) ranks third on the list. Median equity exposure - 69.65%
4. SBI Balanced Advantage Fund (AUM - ₹32,941 crore) holds the fourth position on the BAF list. Median equity exposure - 42.63%
5. Nippon India Balanced Advantage Fund (AUM - ₹32,941 crore) is at the fifth position on the BAF list. Median equity exposure - 55.11%
6. ICICI Prudential Balanced Advantage Fund (AUM - ₹62,051 crore) ranks sixth position on the list. Median equity exposure - 43.05%
7. Kotak Balanced Advantage Fund (AUM - ₹17,206 crore) has been given the seventh position on the BAF list. Median equity exposure - 48.36%
8. HDFC Balanced Advantage Fund (AUM - ₹96,536 crore) is at the eighth position on the BAF list. Median equity exposure - 65.87%
8. Aditya Birla Sun Life Balanced Advantage Fund (AUM - ₹7,701 crore) is one the most dynamic BAFs on the list and is at the ninth position. Median equity exposure - 54.12%
10. Baroda BNP Paribas Balanced Advantage Fund (AUM - ₹4,187 crore), the most dynamic among the BAFs, stands last on the BAF list. Median equity exposure - 60.86%
