Top 10 busiest airports in the world 

The Airports Council International (ACI) released a report that mentioned that more and more people are taking to the skies. In 2023 alone, a whopping 8.5 billion passengers travelled by air.

There was a 27.2% surge in air traffic from last year and according to the report by ACI, the world is back to pre-pandemic travel levels.

IGI had a passenger traffic of a staggering 72.2 million in 2023.

The first position was secured by Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport with 104.65 million passengers in 2023.

The Dubai International Airport came second surpassing its ranking in the previous year. As compared to 2022, Dubai’s airport saw a 31.3 percent increase in passenger volume.

Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport secured the 3rdposition and saw 81.75 million passengers in 2023. The airport has 5 terminals and 168 gates.

Next on the list was London’s Heathrow Airport with a passenger volume of 79.2 million in 2023.

The Tokyo Haneda International Airport scored the 5thposition on the list. The airport has jumped from the 16th spot and its passenger volume has also increased by a significant margin compared to 2022.

Denver International Airport, Istanbul Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, and Chicago O’Hare International Airport followed in that particular order.
