South Korean boy band BTS debuted in 2013 and has managed to break records with almost every new album or song they release. Here are some of the top world records earned by BTS.
In April 2021, BTS earned the title of the most streamed group on Spotify of all time. With an impressive tally exceeding 16.3 billion streams, they have surpassed their ‘My Universe’ in collaboration with Coldplay.
BTS's 2020 single ‘Dynamite’ holds the record as the longest-running Hot 100 hit by a Korean act. It also broke the Guinness World Record for the K-pop track with the most weeks on the US Hot 100.
In August 2020, BTS clinched the record for the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours with the release of their music video Dynamite. They garnered 101.1 million views.
Guinness World Records recognised BTS for selling around 4,440,800 copies of their album ‘Map of the Soul: 7’.
BTS made history on June 25, 2022, by becoming the only Korean group to top the Billboard 200 chart with six different albums.
BTS entered into the Guinness World Records ‘Hall of Fame’ after smashing an impressive 23 records in 2021.
