Travis Head Helps Australia Break T20I Powerplay Record

Australia made a roaring start to their first series following the T20 World Cup.

The Mitchell Marsh-led side crushed Scotland in the first T20I in Edinburgh.

The Aussies shattered a world record to secure a seven-wicket victory.

The visitors took only 58 balls to chase down a 155-run target.

Opener Travis Head wreaked havoc, scoring 80 off just 25 deliveries.

His blazing knock helped Australia register 113 runs in the first 6 overs.

It is the all-time highest powerplay score in the history of T20I cricket.

Australia achieved the feat having hit 14 consecutive boundaries.

Earlier, only South Africa could breach the 100-run mark in the T20I powerplay.

The Proteas struck 102 runs against West Indies in Centurion last year.
