Triumph has launched its much-anticipated Street Triple R and RS bikes in India. These middleweight bikes come with updated engines and chassis, making them more powerful and agile than ever before.
Triumph has launched its Street Triple bikes in India with the R variant priced at Rs 10.17 lakh and the RS variant priced at Rs 11.81 lakh.
The 765cc, three-cylinder engine has been updated with new pistons, con rods, shorter intake trumpets, a new camshaft and increased valve lift.
Power has gone up to 120hp on the R and 130hp on the RS. Torque figures on both remain the same at 80Nm.
Both bikes have had revisions to their chassis with a sharper rake and reduced wheelbase.
The RS has a taller subframe by means of a 20mm spacer on the monoshock.
The R now runs on Continental ContiRoad tyres while the RS ships with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tyres.
Both bikes get IMU-enabled electronics including multi-level traction control, ABS, a bidirectional quickshifter and multiple riding modes.
The R comes with four riding modes while the RS has an additional Track riding mode.
The R has a Trident-esque digital display while the RS has a colour TFT dash.
The Street Triple duo is rivalled by the Kawasaki Z900 and the Ducati Monster lineup.
