The legendary ‘Daytona’ moniker has been revived. Triumph, the British manufacturer, has launched the all-new Triumph Daytona 660 in the UK.

Pricing Details

The new bike is priced at £8,595, which is approximately Rs 9.08 lakh.

Engine Specifications

The Daytona 660 is the third bike based on Triumph’s 660cc triple platform. It features a 660cc, liquid-cooled, in-line 3-cylinder engine.

Power Output

The engine produces 95PS at 11,250rpm and 69Nm at 8,250rpm. This means it makes 17% more power and 9% more torque than the Trident 660.

Gearbox and Clutch

The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It also features a slip and assist clutch.

Suspension and Brakes

Bike’s suspension includes a 41mm inverted fork and a Showa monoshock. Braking is handled by twin 310mm discs at the front and a single 220mm disc at rear.

Design and Positioning

The Daytona 660 is built on a tubular steel perimeter frame. Its design and footpeg placement make it more of a sports tourer than an outright supersport.

Features

The bike comes equipped with a TFT instrument console, switchable traction control, and three riding modes. A quickshifter and other accessories are available as add-ons.

Indian Launch

The Triumph Daytona 660 is likely to be launched in India in March 2024. It expected to be priced at about Rs 9.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Competition

The bike will compete with the Aprilia RS 660, Honda CBR650R, Kawasaki Ninja 650, and the upcoming Yamaha R7.
