The race for the US presidency is heating up as polls released on Sunday show Donald Trump and Kamala Harris neck-and-neck just days before their highly anticipated televised debate.
According to recent polls, both candidates are virtually tied, with neither managing to pull significantly ahead.
A New York Times/Siena poll shows Trump at 48% and Harris at 47%, placing the two candidates in a statistical tie, well within the margin of error.
Harris holds a narrow lead in key battlegrounds like Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. However, the race remains tight, with ties reported in Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, and Arizona.
Harris holds small leads in the Rust Belt (Michigan and Wisconsin), while Trump retains support from his base in working-class states, though recent CBS News/YouGov polling still shows close margins.
The debate is set for Tuesday evening, Sept 10 (US time).
The debate will be broadcast live on ABC News and streamed on their website, beginning at 6:30 AM IST. It will also be available for streaming on ABC’s YouTube channel and app.
