Producer: Priyanka DasEditor: Aparna Singh | October 14, 2024
Diwali is right around the corner and these citrusy ice cubes will not only look cute in your drinks, but will add flavour once they start to melt. Add to your cocktail, mocktail, or ice cold glass of lemonade.
2 oranges
2 lemons
2 limes
Lemonade
Raspberries
Mint
Medium or large silicone ice cube mould trays
Ingredients
Slice citrus in half. Then, slice each half again. You should have 4 sections. Slice the citrus so it’s thin enough to bend. Repeat with the remaining citrus.
Start by bending the citrus and placing in a corner of one of the silicone cube compartments. Keep layering until you have a little bit of space left in the centre.
Take one of the smaller slices of citrus and gently roll it, skin side up, and place in the centre to create the rose bud. You can even mix up the citrus.
Tuck mint leaves on the outer corners of the cube compartments, or even in the centre of the bud. You can also use raspberries to place in the centre of the bud.
Using a measuring cup or pitcher, carefully pour water over each cube compartment, about ¾ of the way. You want the skin of the citrus to be above water if possible.
Freeze for 8 hours or overnight. Serve with your favourite drink. Enjoy!
