UP Cabinet unveils policy

Uttar Pradesh introduces the Digital Media Policy 2024, aiming to create a list of social media influencers eligible for state-sponsored advertisements.

Influencers to promote schemes

Selected influencers will receive state-sponsored ads, promoting government schemes and achievements to a broader audience through digital platforms.

FB & YouTube influencer tiers

Influencers on Facebook and YouTube are categorised into four tiers: A (10 lakh+ subscribers), B (5 lakh+), C (2 lakh+), and D (1 lakh+).

Instagram & X follower categories

Instagram and X influencers fall into categories A (5 lakh+ followers), B (3 lakh+), C (2 lakh+), and D (1 lakh+), determining their compensation.

Category A influencer earnings

Top-tier influencers on any platform can earn ₹50,000-₹1 lakh per video, with up to ₹1.2 lakh per video based on view count, capped at ₹5 lakh monthly.

Category B earning details

Influencers with 5-10 lakh followers can earn ₹45,000-₹75,000 per video, with bonuses for high views, reaching up to ₹1.10 lakh per video.

Category C compensation

Influencers in Category C, with 2-5 lakh followers, earn ₹40,000-₹60,000 per video, with additional ₹10,000 per extra lakh views, capped at ₹80,000 per video.

Category C compensation

Entry-level influencers, with 1-2 lakh followers, can earn ₹35,000-₹50,000 per video, plus bonuses for extra views, with total capped at ₹70,000 per video.

Category D payment breakdown

Entry-level influencers, with 1-2 lakh followers, can earn ₹35,000-₹50,000 per video, plus bonuses for extra views, with total capped at ₹70,000 per video.

View-based bonuses

All influencer categories A-D can earn an additional ₹10,000 for every 1 lakh views beyond the first lakh, up to category-specific caps, boosting overall income.

Monthly earning potential

Influencers in Category A can earn up to ₹5 lakh monthly through video uploads, production fees, and bonuses, with lower caps for other categories.
