The vice presidential debate between Tim Walz and JD Vance will take place on Tuesday, October 1. Walz is the Democratic nominee, and Vance is the Republican nominee.
This is the first and only scheduled debate between the vice presidential candidates. The event happens five weeks before Election Day, a crucial period for voters.
The debate is set for 9 p.m. Eastern Time (ET), which translates to 6:30 a.m. IST on October 2. It will run for 90 minutes, moderated by Norah O'Donnell and Margaret Brennan.
Viewers can watch the debate live on CBS News Website, Streaming Services like Paramount+, CBS News’ YouTube channel and other Social Media platforms.
The debate will be held in New York City, a traditional Democratic stronghold. Trump, however, has campaigned heavily in New York to challenge that assumption.
Both candidates are undergoing intensive preparation. Walz is practising with Pete Buttigieg as his mock opponent, while Vance’s prep team includes GOP Rep. Tom Emmer.
No additional vice presidential or presidential debates have been scheduled, but the possibility remains open. Debates are being planned independently by networks.
Harris debated Donald Trump on Sept 10. Though no follow-up is confirmed, Harris has expressed interest in another debate on October 23, pending Trump's availability.

He is the Republican candidate, campaigning alongside former President Trump. He is travelling across the US to connect with voters and strengthen his appeal.
