US Open: India’s Rohan Bopanna breaks all-time record
Rohan Bopanna has reached the US Open men’s doubles final with partner Matthew Ebden of Australia
Bopanna and Ebden defeated the French pair of Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut 7-6 (7-3), 6-2
In the process, Bopanna became the oldest player to reach a Grand Slam final in the Open Era
The record was previously held by Canada’s Daniel Nestor, who reached the 2016 Australian Open Men’s Doubles final at the age of 43 years and 4 months
This will be Bopanna’s second appearance in a Grand Slam men’s doubles final
Bopanna had previously reached the final of the 2010 US Open, having paired with Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi back then
