Vande Bharat Metro:
First Look Unveiled
The Vande Bharat Metro’s first look was unveiled on May 1.
The first few metro coaches were built at a factory in Kapurthala, Punjab.
50 such trains will be built, and the number will rise to 400.
The Vande Bharat Metro is intended to cover long distances.
It has been designed for efficiency and convenience, providing passengers with quick connectivity.
Vande Bharat Metro will cover a distance of between 100 and 250 kms.
It will have 12 coaches by default, but can be expanded to 16.
Trial runs for short-distance Vande Metro trains are slated to begin in July.
Currently, Indian Railways operates over 82 Vande Bharat Express trains.
They intend to introduce more such trains in future as part of the expansion.
