It is believed that Lord Shiva resides in the banyan tree.
On the auspicious occasion of Vat Purnima, women should worship the banyan tree by offering various types of fruits and flowers.
This year, purnima will start at 7:23 PM on June 5 and continue till 9:19 PM on June 6. Therefore, fasting on this auspicious occasion should be observed on June 6.
The auspicious time to hold the puja on June 6 is from 6 AM to 9 AM.
As per the scriptures, the worship of the banyan tree is important in the Hindu religion.
Hindu religion believes that the tree’s root represents Lord Brahma, the trunk stands for Lord Vishnu, and the upper part of the banyan tree represents Lord Shiva.
