Traffic on Western Expressway: Commuters take a jibe at BMC, Police

 A massive traffic jam hit Mumbai’s Western Express Highway on peak working hours of  Monday.

The busy highway has been swamped with traffic due to repair work near the Aarey Bridge path that leads to Bandra. 

Social media users were quick enough to take to X, expressing their experiences being stuck during this traffic

According to social media user, the traffic  extended for about six kilometres beyond Borivali.

While another user complained of being stuck in the same place for 25 minutes.

"Why is #lockdownindia not being implemented in toto in #Mumbai," a commuter complained as she shared her plan to work from home today.

An office goer expressing his disappointment for being late for work, advised the BMC and city police to treat residents in a better way.

Posting a Google map screenshot, a commuter blamed encroachment by slum dwellers for this traffic.

"Kindly mark half day leave in your respective organisation," an user posted on X, taking a dig at the  traffic.

Complaining to city police, a commuter called the jam "a harassment for all the Mumbaikar everyday." The police was quick enough to respond to his message.
