Screenshotting profile pictures is considered a breach of privacy, often without the user's knowledge.
Previously available for Android, WhatsApp introduces the blocking feature for iPhone users.
iOS beta version now allows users to prevent others from taking screenshots of their display picture.
WhatsApp's iOS beta version 24.10.10.70 previews the forthcoming privacy feature.
Facebook's Profile Picture guard tool offers additional protection against screenshotting.
When attempted, the app will display a black screen and notify the owner of screenshot restrictions.
WhatsApp plans to make this privacy feature mandatory, without the option for manual adjustment.
Additionally, WhatsApp is developing a new audio call bar for easier call management.
