WhatsApp May Introduce Double-Tap Reaction Feature Soon: What We Know

WhatsApp is all set to roll out a new feature soon that allows users to react to a message simply by double-tapping it, similar to Instagram’s DM feature.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature is currently in the testing phase and will be available in the upcoming months.

The new feature will allow users to quickly respond to media content, without leaving the viewer's screen, making it quicker and more convenient to interact.

Currently, to react on WhatsApp, the users need to press the message or the media file for a few seconds after which the app opens an array of reactions to choose from, which is quite time-consuming.

The double-tap feature speeds up communication by letting the user react to a message with a default heart emoticon.

However, it is still unknown whether the feature will come with a disable option or not.

Apart from this, WhatsApp is working on several other Instagram-like features to meet the users' demands.

Recently it was reported that the popular messaging app is working on a new feature that allows users to reshare status updates in which they’ve been mentioned.

The Meta-owned app is also working on a file-sharing feature that will enable users to share files between Android to iOS wirelessly and also without using the internet.
