World Cup 2023: Virat Kohli breaks Sachin Tendulkar's centuries record 

When Kohli slammed his century against New Zealand in World Cup semis, he overtook Tendulkar to become the batter with most tons in ODIs (50 tons)

With 711 runs, Kohli became the batter with most runs in a single edition of the World Cup. Sachin Tendulkar (673) held the previous record 

Against New Zealand, Kohli scored 117 off 113 balls before being dismissed by Tim Southee 

Kohli got to his half-century in 59 balls, amassing four fours 

Kohli had also surpassed Tendulkar for scoring 1000 runs in a calendar year for eight years. Tendulkar had done so for seven years 

His century against the Kiwis on Wednesday was Kohli's third century in 2023 World Cup 

On Wednesday, Kohli forged a 163-run stand with Shreyas Iyer to help India post 397 

Till date, Kohli has scored 13,794 runs in ODIs
