World Suicide Prevention Day: 9 signs that you should consider therapy

Depression or anxiety Constant feelings of depression and anxiety can hamper your daily life. At this point, it is better to get in touch with a therapist.

Perennial irritation Have you started feeling annoyed or irritated over little things? It could be related to mental health and turning to a therapist might help you get to the bottom of things.

Feeling angry  Feeling angry sometimes is okay but if you are constantly resentful there could be a bigger problem at hand. It is important to talk about your feelings.

Eating disorders  Are you overly focused on food and eating? Are you obsessed about your weight to the point that it makes you anxious? This is reason enough for you to visit a therapist.

Excessive alcohol consumption If you have started consuming an excessive amount of alcohol, it is a sign of increased stress. Although this may seem like a coping mechanism, it is not.

Social withdrawal If you have been isolating yourself from others and feeling lonely, it is a sign that all is not well. Consulting a mental health professional might help you.

Difficulty concentrating If you are struggling to focus on the tasks and make decisions, or feeling mentally foggy, this is your indication to contact a therapist. Anxiety is one of the reasons for lack of concentration.

Negative self-talk Engaging in constant negative self-talk or having thoughts of self-harm is a warning sign.

Relationship issues Often relationships can turn toxic. If you are constantly feeling suspicious or misunderstood or if you are always walking on eggshells, it is going to impact your mental health. A therapist might help you resolve the issues.
