Yashasvi Jaiswal has now amassed 712 runs in the ongoing India vs England Test series.
The 22-year-old smashed 57 runs in 58 balls in the first innings of the Dharamsala Test.
Jaiswal is only the 2nd Indian to score 700 runs in a Test series.
He is now just 63 runs shy of taking the first spot on this exclusive two-man list.
Jaiswal is currently trailing Sunil Gavaskar who occupies both the first and second place.
Gavaskar was the first Indian to reach this milestone with 774 runs.
The batting legend achieved this tally in 1971 against the West Indies in an away series.
Gavaskar is at the second position as well with 732 runs, also against the Windies.
Jaiswal will have another opportunity to surpass Gavaskar’s tally in the second innings.
India have already wrapped up the series against England 3-1.
