Rabri is a standalone dessert but is also paired with other delicacies like gulab jamun, malpua, poori, and the most famous, jalebi. Here's a step-by-step guide to preparing delicious coconut rabri at home.
Ingredients Full cream milk - 1 ltr Grated coconut - 1/2 cup Khoya - 1/2 cup Sugar - As needed Cashews - As per desired levels Cardamom - 2 cloves Almonds and pistachios, chopped - 1/2 cup Saffron strands - 5 Rose petals - For garnishing
Step 1 Take a bowl, and soak 10-15 cashews in hot water. Leave it aside for 15 minutes.
Step 2 Take a pan and pour full cream milk. Boil and cook it till it's 3/4th in quanti
Step 3 Add saffron strands and khoya to the milk. Keep stirring it for a few minutes and scrap whatever gets stuck to the side of the pan.
Step 4 Blend the soaked cashews till they become a fine past
Step 5 Add sugar and grated coconut to the mixture. Add the cashew paste and keep cooking till it loses its rawness.
Step 6 Add crushed cardamom and stir it well. Remove from flame and let it cool.
Step 7 Now, transfer rabri to serving bowls and garnish with rose petals and chopped nuts.
