Ingredients Long grain rice - 1 cup Onion, thinly sliced - 1 Garlic, finely chopped - 2 tsp Ginger, finely chopped - 1 tsp Cinnamon stick - 1 Cardamom pods - 2 Cloves - 4 Ghee/oil (As required) Salt (As per taste) Sugar (As needed) Water (As required)

Step 1 Heat ghee and oil in a pan. Take both half-and-half.

Step 2 Add cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves, and let it splutter.

Step 3 Add onion and saute until translucent in colour. Now, add ginger and garlic and saute until the raw smell diminishes.

Step 4 Add the rice, salt, and sugar and mix well for 1 minute. Add water till a bit above the rice level.

 Step 5 Cover the lid and cook it on medium to low flame.
